Was able to witness just how juxtaposed elements of the traditional were with the modern from the view at the top of the Burj Khalifa (below); the tallest building in the world. The monumental presence of Dubai's infamous skyscrapers were dwarfed like miniatures in a sand pit desert. 

This viewpoint encapsulates the city; the weight of industrial progress is unnerving amongst a cacophony of sand and windy heat.
